Despite skepticism and issues that have unfortunately characterized the event of the year, Expo 2015 in Milano is an experience to do.

It ‘s like a world in miniature where you can see typical costumes, music, traditional food, dances and different cultures without barriers, without distances. In one day, just walking around, you run into all the colors of the world. Each country engages you with an exhibition, a video installation that reproduces the sounds of the nature of that place, a quiz, a game for children or adults, a musical show. And then, of course, food and wine are the main characters: typical products to taste, also at the restaurants available in

many pavilions as the theme for this edition is “Feeding the planet, energy for life” as we have heard and read several times.

Expo of Milan is also a great opportunity for those who had not planned vacations in these period of crisis, because this exposition is a short trip into the world to do in a few days and only getting to one city. You can try any product from any country and when you enter a pavillon, not always the operators speak Italian or English and this makes you feel a bit abroad.

Here are some details of interest:

So it helps to get that there is much to do and to see. Maybe a week is needed to enter each space.  This is why I have found several articles to give suggestions and guides.

I find, however, that the selection must remain purely personal: get lost autonomously! I leave here my experience, clearly partial, to just intrigue those who’ll read me but on the left hand side of the following tab you can also find some tips!

USEFUL INFO CURIOSITY
Once in Milan, the exhibition site can be reached by underground (metro station Rho: buy the extra urban ticket urban at 2.50€ and not the one at 1.50€ which clearly says “Rho fair excluded “); moreover there are direct trains which allow you to avoid eventual changes, well-publicized at metro station themselves; even the simple entrance after 7PM allows to enjoy the musical and water shows of the tree of life, very nice ones.
An evening tour after 7 PM per 5€ is absolutely worthy: to save money, you can combine one or more complete visits going in the morning with some evening ones; It is interesting also the wine pavilion, with a berry shape that offers the opportunity to buy a card  which includes a wine glass (you can keep) and the tasting of 3 italian wines; you can choose among the several regions grouped in each single section. If you are in troubles you have two possibilities: consult the sommelier available in the room; download the app that, according to your profile, will suggest some wines to choose from.
There are pavilions and “Squares / squares”, as diverse as the terms let you guess: the pavilions are closed spaces with inner rooms containing various info, exhibitions, activities. The squares are small spaces, generally open, which offer videos, information and thematic meetings as the Irpinia space in front of the wine pavilion, Sicily one with its beautiful Acroliths, CalabriaEXPerience, Piedmont experience. To access some pavilion there are long lines such as for Italia pavilion, the Japanese one (Japanese show a notice board with the waiting time), yet Kazakhstan will host Expo 2017 with the theme Future Energy, (future energy).
Still or sparkling water dispensers are available  throughout the exhibition site for free. I loved China and Japan pavilions: large, with oriental style, music and captivating  installations.
Given the distances, a free shuttle service around the perimeter is guaranteed. Slow Food space is also interesting: it offers thematic meetings, adult games to challenge your senses, typical vegetables.
Events, meetings, tastings and presentations rotate and change every day, every week, every month. Let’s get informed about the specific program of a day once we have planned the date of your visit. I loved Korean restaurant, among the most popular ones within Expo with its “iced noodle” and the wine fermented with rice.
The accreditation center for journalists is located at  Rho Fiera metro station, before you reach the entrance of the site. A space for press is guaranteed within the site. Nice to enjoy a delicious juice of baobab in “Angola”, cakes of dried fruit in Turkmenistain, creams containing wine in Chile, the powdered of cocoa in Ghana to be dissolved in water for a healthy drink.
Recharge for smart phone and tablet are available in some pavilion, some “squares” such as Citterio one on front of Wine pavilion It is not very comfortable the net you can choose to pass in Brasile Pavilion especially with sandals.
You’ll love comfortable shoes, anyway you can rest lying at the colored structured made available by the car company FIAT to promote its car “500” Discover the horizontal planting along the building in Israel pavilion, they’ll show how it can help in saving space and involve people directly
