The wine world, like the regular one, is always in progress.

Many kinds of closures have been launched and experimented in order to find alternatives to the cork especially because of the TCA, the cork taint: closures in plastic or glass as well as the screw cap which has conquered the New World. Someone has also thought that the cork was risking a decline.

Then Coravin has introduced an opening system with a special needle which allows us to pour wine without opening the bottle so aiming at avoiding oxidation and allowing us keep the bottle for weeks, advantages attributed to the screw cap so far.

But if the market (and the marketing) foresee or (even better) trigger the needs we should pay attention to the new message of Coravin hidden behind the launch of the same system but designed for screw caps: it is just enough to replace the original screw cap with a special one designed by Coravin and made with a silicone membrane to be combined with the standard Coravin opening system and its “magic” needle.

The future remains to be explored.
