After a Master’s Degree in Economics accomplished between Italy and Malta, Chiara specialized in Wine & Food Marketing and Communication with experiences acquired in Italy, California (where she studied Wine Marketing & Sales at the Napa Valley College), Canada (where she worked at the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto) and the UK (where she worked as a staff member of the Decanter World Wine Awards).

Today she works as a freelance wine critic with collaborations and publications in Italy, the USA, Russia, and the UK; Founder of the blog www.chiaragiorleo.com/en in Italian and English. Judge at Italian and international wine competitions all over the globe and Italy Academy Chair of the international wine tourism competition the world’s 50Best Vineyards; co-curator of the guide to the best Italian Rosé powered by Luciano Pignataro Wine Blog.
Wine educator, translator (ITA-ENG; ENG-ITA) and wine & food tour leader; she also collaborates with wine & food guides.

She owns the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits and is also an official WSET Educator; she is also certified as AIS Sommelier, Professional Taster and Educator in Italy.

She is the first woman to be awarded the prize in Wine and Food Communication “Ezio Marchi” (2022). Also awarded by the Italian publisher ‘Malvarosa Edizioni’ with the Food Blog Award – “Wine & Drink” section (2016).
