Abstract

Vino, Donna brings together interviews conducted by Chiara Giorleo with highly respected women working across the Italian wine industry. Originally published as conversations on the website of journalist, writer and publisher Luciano Pignataro, these interviews have evolved into an editorial project that explores the wine sector through professional journeys, personal experiences and diverse perspectives.

The book is divided into three thematic sections dedicated to producers and winemakers, journalists and sommeliers, and other professionals whose work contributes every day to the growth and evolution of the industry.

In a sector historically shaped by a strong male presence, the book highlights the increasingly central role of women through a broad perspective that transcends geographical boundaries. The result is a collective narrative showcasing expertise, leadership, innovation and vision, while documenting the contribution women are making to the future of Italian wine.

The result of more than five years of interviews and field research, Vino, Donna aims to inform and inspire, celebrating professional achievements while offering positive role models for future generations.
