pasta barilla tricolore in US

I am here, I swear! I have pictures, can you see ? I will really do my report about Napa and the success of wines of this area. I want to discover more about their success worldwide, the quality of their wines, the wine tourism, but also the lifestyle, the people and so on. So, first I have to arrange my staff, the house, the car, the sim card for my phone and doing that I have some nice curiosities about the place. I live here in this historical place (even if “for me1915 is yesterday being Italian”, as the owner of the house told me as soon as I arrived). In this house one of the inventors of the loudspeaker lived, cool! And what could I do as soon as I got here in Napa? I had a glass of  one of the most popular wines of the area: Merlot of the winery Mondavi (know more at: http://www.robertmondaviwinery.com/), one of the first and the most important winery here! Wonderful. So, I got my room, I have rent a car and I have bought a sim card for my phone (a bit expensive here as well as the TV, I have just discovered). I also went shopping around and it has been nice to see the Italian pasta of the popular “Barilla” brand with Italian lines on the package and so many particular types: fettuccine rigate, Whole grain penne and also the pasta in the 3 colours of the Italian flag, just to make sure everyone knows pasta is an Italian product?? I do not know if I perfectly agree with the timing to obtain “al dente” pasta! (see picture).

And of course they cannot miss the space to bring beverage on the trolley of the supermarket (see picture), and… here in Napa valley, even the water has grape falvour! (sse pic on instagram).

Napa downtown is pretty and safe, no more than 80,000 residents who are not very used to have strangers around (besides tourists of course), so now imagine a small city, a town in a valley where everybody knows everybody living mostly of agriculture which in 20/30 years has become one of the most important places for the wine production! They are still getting used to it, trust me. They all work in the wine sector or in the hospitality (thanks to the wine tourism of course)! All of them! And the life here is not cheap also because of the influence of the Bay of San Francisco.

These are just some light curiosities about Napa and this territory. In the next days I am going to visit wineries and public entities to finally get into their wine culture, follow me!
