With over 4,100 exhibitors on an area of 100 thousand square meters net , over 140 thousand visitors, of which over 50 thousand are foreign operators from 120 different countries , Vinitaly is confirmed once againas the wine broader and most dynamic fair on a global scale.

And there are interesting news for this edition , 2014

•  So, for the first time this year we find the pavilion of international wines , where French Champagne are in the front row but there are also Australia , Spain , Chile , Argentina , South Africa and New Zealand , as well as lesser-known areas of production: Ukraine , Slovenia, Russia , Azerbaijan , Kosovo and Colombia ! And the “sold out” of all the tastings in the program demonstrates success. I have had the opportunity to participate in the French Grand Cru tasting of including 2 Bordeaux and 1 great Sauternes ” Chateau de Rayne Vigneau ” although too young (vintage 2010). •  And yet the Vinitalybio , pavilion dedicated to organic wines in line with the current market trend that sees these wines more and more requested. Read more here.

•  Great satisfaction was shown by exhibitors for Vinitaly Buyer’s Lounge, a new area dedicated to business contacts Vinitaly , which included a full calendar of trade matching between foreign operators and wineries.

And now accustomed to the presence of women in a world always imagined as “male” , this year the emphasis was on young people : Young to Young is the new initiative where 3 young producers met the young bloggers, requested to review these ” young ” wines.

Impossible to mention wines and wineries, I prefer instead to provide you with further curiosities: I really like the label of one of the two competitions of Vinitaly “International packaging competition” (see photo) : ” Bardolino Classico DOC 2013″ of the winery Bigagnoli.

The press releases are worded very clearly “Italian wine does not knows crisis” also considering that wine today represents more than 20 % of the all Italian food industry (surpassing pasta , cheese, prosciutto etc ).

But our goal , in Italy , is clear: China “we will be successful as we did in the U.S. market” said Piero Antinori President of the IGM – association of the best Italian producers which celebrated 10 years and which contributes to the promotion of Italian wine in the world.
See you next year, the 49th edition!
