“Mazzuca” is not a wine bar and not even a bistrot or a mini-market.

It is the Antica Salumeria Formaggeria (Historical delicatessen) located in the notorious city of Amantea, well known seaside and touristic location in Calabria region (southern Italy), where:negozio

  • ANTICA, in other terms, means “tradition” as the family business was born in the 1936!
  • SALUMERIA, in other terms, means you can try several and (above all) original salumi (cold cuts) such as goose speck (smooked ham), donkey mortadella (Italian sliced meat) or Patanegra (from Spain) lard;
  • and FORMAGGERIA, in other terms, means you can have any cheese from all over the world such as the york shire or a buffalo cheese very different compared to the well know fresh mozzarella, piacentino ennese (cheese from Sicily and yellow thanks to saffron) as well as the cow cheese aromatized with dried fruit!

How do I know? First of all the owners let you try some special products before you buy anything, and just that you fallen in love for ever; what’s more  they also have a small room where you can book a table and have a rich tasting of their products pairing a wine! The only rules are: book it in advance and go during the shop time (they do not work at night!).

What a surprise for a shop even if a fine one!!

camionI enjoyed it so much, go and see the real taste of Italy: spontaneity, taste and style!
