Taurasi is not only a wine: the fine red produced in campania region (southern italy) and, in particular, in the inland of the region where the conditions are absolutely special for this kind of produciton.

Taurasi is al so a town, an old one which will hosts people each Sunday of May (2016).

The programme is absolutely relaxing and “tasty”, it includes a tour of the charming town (I have been there more than once, I warmly suggest to visit it), an happy hour and a tasting of local specialties and wines!

There are 2 main characters:

  • Antico Castello winery which will present its 3 local and famous white wines: Falanghina, Fiano and Greco as well as the special reds Aglianico and Taurasi (still made of Aglianico grape but more complex and structures thanks to a longer maturation).
  • Contrade di Taurasi-Cantine Lonardo winery which will present all its red wines made from Aglianico grape: from the basic line up to the cru of Taurasi (meaning: Taurasi made from single and selected vineyards), as well as a rare white variety called Grecomusc’ in its special version called “Burlesque” and made from old vines. Have you ever had it?

The thematic tastings will go on from 10 to 11 AM and a reservation is required. Please find here the contacts:
