The Italian Women in Wine Association is the biggest association of women in wine in the world thus deserving a big party for its 30th anniversary (1988-2018). So it has just started the celebration right in Firenze, where it was born in March 1988 thanks to Elisabetta Tognana, to present the programme together with some popular friends such as the writer Sveva Casati Modignani and the journalist Giletti. The programme will be developed all over the italian territory and based on the common theme: women, wine and cinema. It is enough to follow the web-pages of the national association or those of the regional delegations.

But this is not the only one news as this super dynamic association has recently been at the Parliament of the Italian Republic to present the upcoming master classes to become wine managers with the aim of:

  • increase the number of women employed at the DOC and DOCG Consortium (less than 10% at the moment)
  • enhance the wine marketing through the special approach of women based on storytelling as declared by the President of the Women in Wine Association, Donatella Cinelli Colombini.

It is the first initiative in Italy aimed to form the future wine managers.

There will be 2 kind of courses: one on the communication and one for the Consortium. The first one opened to wine producers, sommelier, wine bloggers and journalists, wine marketing and communication managers, restaurant owners, wine makers. The second to people who work at the various Consortium.

They will be held in Italy (north, center and south) by Wine People-Wine Meridian, high education italian agency, from the end of February on.
