Emergente 2023 is the well-known Italian competition for young chef (under 30) launched almost 20 years ago by experts such as Luigi Cremona and Lorenza Vitali and organized by WItaly.

Any edition foreseen different steps, after the first one, the selection of the best young chef from Northern Italy held at the culinary school of Cracco, the selection of the best ones from Central and Southern Italy has been held in Umbria region, Central Italy, last week.

Here are the best young chef announced on October the 11:

BEST CHEF FROM CENTRAL&SOUTHERN ITALY:

  • VINCENZO RUSSO (Trigu rest. – Sassari)
  • FRANCESCA BARONE (Fattoria delle Torri rest. – Modica)
  • RICCARDO FOGLIETTI (Acquaforte del Grand Hotel rest. – San Gemini – Tr)
  • SIMONE D’ALUISIO (Une a Capodaqua rest. – Perugia)

BEST PIZZA CHEF FROM CENTRAL&SOUTHERN ITALY:

  • UMBERTO COSTA (Umberto – Lucca)
  • RAOUL ROTUNDO (Fiori di zucca – Roma)
  • VINCENZO LA PORTA (Le Fontanelle – Raffadali – AG)
  • GIULIO PIERSANTI (A modo mio – Lugnano in Teverina)

 

A special atmosphere has enriched the award ceremony of October the 11th at the wonderful Chiostro di San Pietro in the capital of Umbria region, central Italy: Perugia where the wines of the association of Women in Wine have been paired to the recipes of some of the best chef of the region and more.
