• THE CONTRADICTIONS ABOUT EXPO 2015-MILAN

June was the right time to hurry and take the advantage to visit Expo thanks to the approachable theme of this edition (in one word: food). But many people, especially Italians, wasted time complaining and some newspapers wrote about a failure because the visitors were not enough even if it was the very beginning!

Then, in October, people realized that the time was running out and they had to run before the closure of Expo 2015 contributing to enlarge the amazing lines; so, they started to complain because of the lines! So, if I am not

mistakes, it means that they were wrong in June: Expo has not been a failure, the lines proved it!

• THEME AND CRITICISMS ABOUT EXPO 2015 IN MILAN

In short, when I visited Expo in June I had to fight against many criticisms: some of them were absolutely right, there is always something to be improved; but some others were empty as usual. Some Italians, for example, went to Expo just to eat Italian food rather than trying some specialties from the world. Even worse, some people have reduced this exposure to a universal “food festival” complaining about the prices (maybe they thought to be into a mini market with

commercial food) without having participated in a meeting or a conference to caught the real spirit.

“Feeding the Planet” did not mean “All you can eat” but “let’s save the planet TOGETHER AND QUICKLY”. Some easy examples: Israel and USA proposed vertically crops along buildings wall (to save space); yet, Slow Food has presented special Italian local products to rediscover territories educating in how to avoid incorrect consumption (ex. out of season), harmful

to the humanity and the environment or the communities. The Emirates proposed their aggregation system that has proven to be able to completely reverse the fate of their people who used to fight also against climate

conditions becoming, nowadays, a power! Some African countries have offered their excellences teaching us how to use them in a very different way from what we are used to.

I have been there with great interest both in June (please find here the old report with suggestions and considerations as well as my contribution) as well as in September because there was so much to do and see at the Expo and there was something for everyone !

• THE MOST INTERESTING PAVILLIONS AT EXPO 2015 IN MILAN

I am here to integrate the previous report with some new considerations on some more pavilions I have visited at Expo 2015.

ITALY: maybe the most important, as it was the host. Architecturally was beautiful, maybe the most interesting one. I am not that sure about the tour, I am not sure the tour has been that engaging, I am not sure we really built an experience!

JAPAN: one of the most popular one. The waiting time rose up to 9/10 hours and even more. The tour was very interesting: made of light effects and sounds that have transported us into an oriental atmosphere. The tour ended with a real show: we all were sit at the virtual table to interact with virtual dished trough our chopsticks learning about seasons and typical

products. A show made of lights, games, colors and music.

THAILAND: The tour was made of videos again, in this case more informative than emotional. I preferred to learn the infinite kinds of rice: looking at their properties list along with a sample. Many visitors have been captured by the store where many local products were available, including insects in bag as chips or popcorn, as they sponsor them as source of proteins! On the other hand our beloved shrimps are not more  attractive than locusts!

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: they have based their communication on an engaging story to show the difference between the current life style and the one of old generations! Today they are one of the most important communities thanks to the cooperation. In view of the next edition of Expo which they will host, they propose the union as solution to the problems of the planet!

IMPERIAL JAPANESE RESTAURANT: Yes, it is the restaurant of the imperial Japanese family and it has also been available at Expo. It has been a real experience where I have celebrated my birthday! But this is another story… coming soon!
