What did you get from the title?! I only taste and review wines…
“My job” (Opera) is just the name of this wonderful red produced by one of the most important winery of the inland of Campania region: Irpinia area in southern Italy.
Ms. Milena Pepe, owner of the estate Tenuta Cavalier Pepe, is well known as absolutely capable but also very dynamic, international and charming thank to her French accent considering that she comes from Belgium and she moved to Italy after having studied marketing in France.
I am sure the first period has not been easy for a young lady coming from abroad so I find this name “My job” more than valid!
Taurasi is the fine red from Campania region, one of the most important Italian wines, made of Aglianico grape and aged in the cellar for at least 3 years before being ready for us!
It’s a long lasting wine that you can keep for 10, even 15 years and you should not drink too early because it can offer a great quality only after many years.
I have had the vintage 2008 recently which is not “ready” (as technicians say) but it is absolutely pleasant already!
The color is ruby red, the bouquet is already rich with hint of red berries, black pepper, tobacco and a touch of vegetable notes. When you taste it you like its generosity, it is juicy and balanced as it is not aggressive as sometimes can happen with rich wines like Taurasi.
Tenuta Cavalier Pepe winery produces a wide range, I will be more than happy to review some more wines soon.
