The international wine tourism competition, WBV – World’s Best Vineyards, was born in London in 2019 with the aim of rewarding the Top 50 wineries in terms of wine tourism. This year also the positions from 51 to 100 has been revealed and it happened online on September 13th.

Organized by William Reed Business Media, it involves over 600 experts covering 22 countries around the world. Each Academy, one for any single country or small group of them, is coordinated by an Academy Chair who forms a team of 36 anonymous judges, each of whom can vote 7 wineries without any prerequisite other than being open to the public.

This year’s edition is organized in collaboration with ‘Wines of Germany’ and the award ceremony will be held in Ahr region also to support the local community after the recent damage caused by the flood. A week in advance, in the meantime, the positions from 51 to 100 have been revealed and those include “legendary” companies – as stated in the official communication of the WBV itself – from Italy, France and California along with wineries in Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Greece, Hungary and India and more.

As Italy Academy Chair I am proud to state that Italy is already among the most rewarded countries with well 3 wineries in this first tranche. So, waiting for the Top 50 to be revealed on Sept the 20th also online ((World’s Best Vineyards YouTube channel), here is the 51-100 list:
